In the latest version of Trace My Trail an intermediate step has been added when we click on the track record button.
Before we actually have a chance to record our track there is a period of time where the gps tries to find the position correctly and essentially does it in 3 steps:
- Waits for gps data
- Finalize the position
- Present the "REC" button to start recording
The most important phase is the second because the app waits for a minimum of 3 pairs of coordinates and if all three are in the same point then it moves on to the third phase.

Consider Satellites
Always in the latest version of our trekking app, a very useful option has been introduced when the GPS of our device cannot position itself correctly as soon as we start recording our route.
This option present in the PRO version of Trace My Trail is available in the settings menu -> GPS activity -> Consider satellites

By activating this option every time we start recording a route before the central “REC” button appears, the gps waits to receive the coordinates from a predetermined minimum of satellites.
This will make the departure more precise especially in those cases where the position is our last location of the previous trip.
